"But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny" --Mark 12:42

How the actions of this poor widow challenges a slightly irreverant, Linux-using, business school educated Christian. And his money.

IQ Test Required: Dating Site for Smart People

IQ Test Result

Sorry, you did not pass the IntelligentPeople.com IQ test.
If this was your first attempt, you have the opportunity to sign up again and have one more attempt to become a member.
You cannot take the IQ test more than twice.
Thank you for your interest.

There’s a new gimmick every day. This one is for smart people looking to find that special someone. You have to pass an IQ test before you’re allowed membership.

I’m happily married. But I want to see what these people look like. I took the test and, apparently, I don’t qualify. HA!

I forwarded it to Hayley. She didn’t pass either. A couple of my coworkers took it. Nope. My boss took it. No dice.

In fact, I’ve been so fascinated by this, I’ve been spreading it around the office. Nobody’s gotten into the special society. Here’s a partial list of the credentials of people who have tried and not been accepted to join this pretentious website:

  • Harvard Graduate
  • Cornell Graduate
  • UC Berkeley Graduate
  • UCLA Graduate
  • USC Graduate
  • Stanford Graduate
  • Penn State Graduate
  • Indiana Institute of Technology Graduate
  • Wharton MBA Student

Somebody out there, help us out. What do these people look like? http://www.intelligentpeople.com/us/

It only takes 10-15 minutes. Let me know. I can either give you props or add your school to the list.

  1. Put one in the win column for Cal. The network appears to be very similar to Facebook - but with a smaller client base. They do have the option to check that you are in a relationship and a section on current employment status, education etc. so I get the impression it is designed for dating and for job networking. Not very exciting unfortunately.

  2. Took it once and failed. haha. I found some press release that says you have to be in the top 15%. Good work, Dryw!

  3. Good job, Dryw!

I need to give props to the Canadian Andrew from the University of Alberta, who sent me an email and screenshot of him passing this test on May 3rd. Good job Canada!

  4. Just thought I would let you know, I just got in…. I was just searching what your iq had to be to get in (115) when I found this page…..

I don’t want to be a hardass, but I am 24, dropped out of the University of South Dakota after one semester with a 0.0, and I dropped out of the joke of a school ITT Tech…..

However, IQ tests are only supposed to test innate intelligence, not your taught abilities….

I guess in high school I really should have applied myself. Maybe I could be a Harvard alum right now.

Email me if you want a pic of my profile for proof.

  5. Good job, Jarod. No picture needed. I believe you.

This IQ test measures a very specific type of intelligence, namely spacial pattern recognition. There are many different types of intelligence. Many psychologists get PhDs on this topic.

Nevertheless, you’d need to be pretty sharp to pass this test. You don’t need to go to an Ivy League school to be successful. But do yourself — and society — a favor and make sure your abilities aren’t wasted.

    Thanks for the comment,
    Ryan

  6. The access code they sent me to take the test was invalid . I even used upper and lower case letters the way they sent it. apparently whoever designed their web site is not a member.

  7. Mushman –

That’s funny. But not a great way to increase your membership base.

  8. Damn. Smoked a blunt to open the mind, took the test, and straight up failed - twice. This thing is legit, for I usually score top percentile in everything. Who ever gets in… Much props!
